A hand-carved T-Rex skull produced from green aventurine, combining the unmistakable profile of one of the best-known dinosaurs with the soft natural colouring of the stone. This particular carving has an attractive pale green to blue-green tone, with subtle variation through the material rather than a completely uniform colour.

The skull has been carved with a strong, recognisable shape, including the broad upper skull, recessed eye sockets and an open jaw lined with individually defined teeth. Viewed from the side, the proportions give it a particularly effective T-Rex silhouette, while the angled views reveal the depth of the carving around the eyes, brow and jaw.

Green aventurine is a quartz-rich material known for its characteristic green colouring, which commonly results from fine inclusions of mica minerals such as fuchsite. These natural inclusions can create variations in colour, translucency and texture, meaning that every carving has its own individual appearance.

At approximately 5cm, this is a compact display piece that works particularly well as a small cabinet specimen, desk ornament or gift for someone with an interest in dinosaurs, minerals or gemstone carvings. The combination of the prehistoric skull design and understated green stone gives it a character quite different from more brightly coloured carved pieces.
